Daughter of the famous actor Michael Redgrave and actress Rachel Kempson, Lynn Redgrave, was born on the 8th of March 1943 in Marylebone, London. She studied at Central School of Speech and Drama and made her first debut in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, at the Royal Court Theater in 1962. One can say that Redgrave is one versatile actress as her career had variation including stage performances as well as a television commercial for Weight Watchers and even books on tape. Her first feature film was Tom Jones in 1963. Redgrave received her first Academy Award Nomination and Golden Globe for Gregory Girl, an all-time favorite romantic comedy. Her Broadway debut in Black Comedy starred with Michael Crawford and Geraldine Page. She also appeared in The Two of Us, Slag and Born Yesterday. By 1983, she played Cleopatra in American television. She even narrated a dramatized television documentary, Silent Mouse.
She has made many other endless performances in Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Sex, The Happy Hooker, House Calls and Mrs. Warren’s Profession. She was an international star. Lynn Redgrave has won multiple awards for different roles in numerous movies, awards including BBC Best Television Actress Award, Golden Globe, and Best Supporting Actress Oscar Nomination. She has even won honorary doctorates due to her lifelong dedication to the arts. Redgrave married an English actor John Clark and had three children including Benjamin Clark - an airline pilot, Pema- singer and songwriter and Annabel- an author as well as a photographer. Redgrave had been diagnosed with breast cancer and spoke openly about her health problems. Unfortunately, she died of breast cancer at her home in Connecticut on the 2nd of May 2010 at the age of 67.
