Krista Stadler is an Austrian film and television actress. She was born in Vienna, Austria on the 15th of August 1942. In 1994, she got married to the late German actor, Joachim Kemmer, who died in the year 2000. She was trained at Helmuth Krauss Drama School and later performed at Atelier Theater. From 1964 to 1969, she has done stage shows in several German theaters. She took a hiatus from the year 1969 until 1972 and returned to theater in 1973, particularly in Theater an der Wien. In 1977, she staged shows at Theater in der Josefstadt, Vienna Volkstheater in 1978, and Salzburg Festival in 1979.
During the 60s, she is also active in film and television and appeared in Géza von Cziffra’s Das süße Leben des Grafen Bobby in 1962. She is also part of Das Erste’s Lindenstraße, where she played as Nina. Krista received the German Film Award for Best Performance by an Actress in the year 1980, for her brilliant performance in Christian Rischert’s Lena Rais. The film also received the Best Feature Film Award. She was later seen in several German TV series and played as the wicked stepmother in Karin Brandauer’s Cinderella, in 1989.
During the 2000s, she appeared in films like Fräulein Else, Soraya, Mein Mörder, Hitlerkantate, Mobbing and more. In 2015, she starred as Omi in Michael Dougherty’s American Christmas horror comedy film, Krampus, where she received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at Fangoria Chainsaw Awards in 2016. She recently appeared in Mirjam Unger’s Maikaefer Flieg and Rolando Suso Richter’s TV movie, Das Geheimnis der Hebamme.
