Jessica Walter

Jessica Walter was an American actress and voice-over artist. She appeared in over 170 films and series, and stage productions. Her most famous role was in the Sitcom, Arrested Development as Lucille Bluth and as a voice artist for Malory Archer in Archer. Her father had a degree in performing arts from the New York City School of Performing Arts. Esther Walter belonged to a Jewish family and was an immigrant from the USSR. Richard Walter (Her brother) is a screenwriter. She studied at the neighborhood playhouse school of theatre in New York City. Soon after she began her career on stage, she won a Clarence Dervent award in 1966.

Walter was a regular and known face in the American film industry. After winning the Clarence award, She got a role as Julie Muranoon in the television series love of life. She also appeared in Westside/Eastside, Naked city, Route 66, Ben Casey, The doctors, The nurses, The defenders, and the rogues. Her earliest best role was in the 1971 movie Play Misty for me. She played a woman who was suffering from borderline personality disorder and the other movie was critical praise. Her most famous role was as Lilith Bluth in Arrested Development. For that role, she got nominated for the Primetime Emmy award for outstanding supporting actress- Comedy. She was also the voice for Malory Archer in Archer. She also appeared in the famous series,The big bang theory’s one episode where she played Mrs. Latham, a wealthy woman.

Jessica was married to Ross Bowman (Director) from 1966 to 1978. They also have a daughter named Brooke Bowman, born in 1972. Later, she married Ron Leibman (who played Dr. Green on Friends) in 1983 until he passed away in 2019. Walter passed away on 24th March 2021 in her sleep in her Brooklyn home.
