Ellen Lee DeGeneres is an American comedienne. She is a very famous American actress, television host, writer, and producer. She was born in Metairie, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Elizabeth Jane and Elliott Everett DeGeneres. She has one brother, Vance, who is a musician and producer. Ellen is of German, French, English, and Irish origin. In 1973, her parent got divorced. After a short time, her mother married to Roy Gruessendorf. She lived with her mother. Her brother, Vance stayed with his father. She did her graduation from Atlanta High School. For further studies, she went to the University of New Orleans. But after some time she left to the University, and start works in a Law firm. Ellen relates much of her childhood and career experiences in her comedic work.
She started in the popular sitcom Ellen from 1994 to 1998 and had hosted her syndicated TV talk show, since 2013. Ellen’s stand-up career begins in the early 1980s. As a film actress, she started from the picture like Mr. Wrong (1996), EDtv (1999), and The Love Letter (1999) and many more. She did a fabulous job in all her films. She won best supporting actress, the award for Finding Nemo in Saturn Award show. She was the first actress to won a Saturn Award for a voice performance. In 2010, she was a judge on American Idol for its ninth season. Ellen hosted many awards like Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, and the Primetime Emmys. She also started her record company, Eleven-Eleven. She is also a part of some charitable trust. Ellen was awarded for many of her work and charitable efforts.
