Her parents were separated when she fourteen-years-old. Then her mother migrated back to Athens with Maria and her sister. Maria received her musical education from Athens.
She started appearing in some roles in Greek National Opera. Maria gave her professional debut in 1941 with a small role in “Boccaccio.” She later returned to the United States. And she met her father in 1945. She then got a job in the Metropolitan Opera as a singer behind the stage. She later turned as an actress who acted in many plays like “Toscas,” “II Trovatore,” and many more. In 2017 a documentary film on Maria Callas was released.
