Elizabeth Ann Berrington was born on 3 August, 1970 in Wallasey, Cheshire, England, UK. She started her career in 1999, where she played Marie- Antoinette in Let Them Eat Cake, starring Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She is not that lady who sits and enjoys the remarkable success, she believes in continuous improvement in her performance by playing varieties of character and by improving and modifying her acting continuously.

She was featured in many British television series like Waterloo Road, The Bill, Doctor Who, The Office The Office is an Indian television sitcom streamin >> Read More... , The Lakes and Rose and Maloney. Who can forget her performance in the BBC comedy The Office which earned her millions of fans. The Office will always be remembered for Elizabeth Berrington as heavily pregnant Anne in the 2003 Christmas special, treating us to the graphic description of intercourse with her husband. She is also known for her movies like In Bruges (2008), Secret & Lies (1996) and ‘Quills’.

She is a quality actor who not only made her mark in the world of theatre, and TV series but in movies also. Her dressing room has many trinkets to remind her of the different plays which she did, like Mike Leigh’s wonderful play, God Save The Queen. The mirror of her dressing room holds the final motif of that play. She has played a huge range of characters on the stage as well as in movies, and has had the privilege to work along with some great talents of Britain.

She worked in two films by Mike Leigh. She also did one film by Peter Greenaway, called Mad Cows and another one called ‘Quills’ which was a hit among the audience. She played Beverley in Abigail’s Party with director David Griendly and Mike Leigh. She appeared in Abigail’s Party because Mike Leigh had personally requested her to and she always thought of him as her mentor and idol. About her performance in Abigail’s Party she said that she was lucky to play the part of Beverley in the show and her journey in the show was a very emotional one.

In an interview she was asked about her character of Beverley and how she relates her character with herself. To this she replied that Beverley is not very happy and she is happy. She and Beverley have completely different values. She is happy with the show’s success and thinks that it will bring an enhancement in her career. She never done any play of Shakespeare and one of her dream’s is to enact in one of the Shakespeare plays or dramas. Otherwise she would also find a big budget movie or TV show to be exciting to work in.

Elizabeth has a very mature approach towards career as she has come a far way from being a kid who just wished to enact Glenda Jackson. Currently she is working in The Syndicate as a Dawn Stevenson.
