Born on January 18, 1960, in Kent, England, Sir David Mark Rylance Waters is an English playwright, actor, and theatre director. He is the son of David and Anne Waters, who were English educators. He has a sister named Susannah, who is an opera vocalist and creator, and a brother, Jonathan, who is a wine proficient.
His family shifted to the US in 1962. Rylance went to the University School of Milwaukee, where his dad was an educator. After finishing his learning from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and also the Chrysalis Theater School, he initially worked with the Glasgow Citizens' Theater in 1980.
