Louis Mandylor

Louis Mandylor is a famous actor and film producer best known for his role in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” (as Nick Portokalos). He was born on 13th September 1966 in Melbourne, Australia.

Family

Mandylor’s parents Louise (née Mandylaris) and Yannis Theodosopoulos are of Greek origin, and his father drove a taxi for a living. His brother Costas Mandylor is also an actor. His birth name is Louis Theodosopoulos, but he and his brother adopted a shorter version of his mother’s maiden name.

Career

In the very beginning of his career, he was a professional boxer and a soccer player between 16-20 years of age. He used to play for Heidelberg United Football Club.

He gave it all up to build himself as an actor in 1990. He has around 60 movies to his credit, some of them being– My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Necessary Roughness, Suckers, Big Shots, One in the Chamber, The Cursed, In the Eyes of a Killer, etc. Apart from this he also appeared in various television series- Castle, The Dog Who Saved Halloween, CSI- Miami, Los Angeles and NY, FRIENDS, Martial Law, Nash Bridges, to name a few. He shared the screen with his brother a lot many times. In Saving Pirate Leo (fourth season episode of Charmed), they played the role of homicidal ghost siblings, then again they appeared together in My Brother Cicero.

Mandylor took over the various aspects of film-making with his movies - The Tale of Jimmy Bones (director, producer), My Brother Cicero(producer, writer), Gerald (producer)The Cursed (producer), In the Eyes of a Killer (director, producer). His company is called The Krakatau Films. He won the best actor award at the Hoboken International Film Festival, Action on Film International Film Festival (In the Eyes of a Killer), Sacramento International Film Festival (Gerald), New York Film and Video Festival (The Tale of Jimmy Bones). He has also won many other awards in direction, and filmmaking.

Personal Life

Louis is great at Muy Thai, which is Thai kickboxing. He pays a lot of attention to fitness and actively participates in a taking care of child health around the world with his group called ‘Find a Dream.’ He is married to the Pakistani actress Aneela Zaman and is currently living in California.
