He was born on 14 May 1977 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He calls himself a hybrid as African parents raised him in Stains and Burkina Faso. As a youngster, he liked to play basketball along with a lot of other things like writing, watching cinema and learning everything about movies. His parents had a huge film library. His mother was a Bollywood film geek and his father a classic movie lover. He had seen movies from various countries like India, China, and America, etc.
The first film that he watched in a theatre was “The AristoCats.” He was five years old then. In college, he studied Banking and Insurance and foreign languages. He used to sneak out of classes and go to film department to learn about movies. He made documentaries and tried to hone his skills. He bagged his first role in the German movie named “The White Masai.”Initially he thought of not doing it as he believed that it would stereotype Africa but after reading seven pages of the script, he decided to do it. He wrote slam poems in his twenties as he was frustrated by being an actor and film-maker and found writing very easy. He thought that it only requires a paper pen and guts to write whatever you have inside you. But it took him two years to get on stage because of his shyness. He got on stage after he lost a bet. Later, he went to Paris with his friends to participate in Slam poetry. He was nervous on stage but received a ten-minute standing ovation. Grand Corp Malade, his friend, made an album in which he featured as John Pucc'Chocolat. He loves chocolates and Cappuccino, which lead to his album name. He used that name to get past bouncers in night clubs. In 2015, he was in “The Catch” opposite MireilleEnos.
