Giorgio Cantarini

Giorgio Cantarini is an Italian Actor who was born in the Florida region of Italy on 12th April 1992. Giorgio was raised in the Orvieto, Umbria region of Italy. His parents are Giuseppe Cantarini and Giovanna La Cantarini. He is an only child to his parents who got divorced when Giorgio was only five years of age. To his family, friends, and loved ones, Giorgio Cantarini is known as “Gio”. Presently, he lives in Florence with his fathers with visits to his mother in Los Angeles in the summer each year and returns before the start of the school sessions.

Since an early age, Gio was always interested in the field of acting and always hoped for becoming a known screenplay writer. Gio made his debut in 1997 when he played the role of “GiosueOrefice”, a four-year-old who is the son of Benigni. In this role, he is sent to the German concentration camp during the period of World War 2 with his father Benigni who is portrayed to be of Jewish Italian descent. The movie was titled “Life is Beautiful” and was of comedy drama genre with Roberto Benigni handling the direction. This role won him a Young Artist Award the following year.

The cast of “Life is Beautiful” also won a Screen Actors Guild Award for their outstanding performance in the motion picture. The actor playing his father was awarded an Academy Award for the Best Actor in a leading role. Gio played a character named “Slavko” and the film was called “Hallmark Hall of Fame”. In the year of 2005, Cantarini participated in the Italian version of the famous American Television reality show “Dancing with the Stars” called in Italian as “Ballando con le Stelle”. At present, Gio is residing with his mother and his step-brother Lorenzo in the Viterbo.
