Gerard Xavier Marcel Depardieu is a French millionaire, Actor, and Director, who was also recently been granted the Russian Citizenship by Vladimir Putin himself as he wished to escape the high French taxes. Gerard Depardieu was born on 27 December 1948 in Châteauroux, Indre, France to parents Anne Jeanne Josèphe and René Maxime Lionel Depardieu, His father worked as a fireman and a blacksmith. Depardieu was a school dropout who later became a robber, male prostitute and a ghoul (grave robber). His story is an apt rag to riches one. After learning to dance and working as a theater artist, Depardieu got his first breakthrough in 1976 when he was offered a role in Robert De Niro’s epic movie “1900”. His next movie “The Last Metro” won him his first Caesar Award. In the year 1990, Depardieu starred in the movie “Green Card” where he played the role of a Frenchman desperate for American citizenship.

His other English movies include Ridley Scott’s iconic “1492: Conquest of Paradise” and the recent Fantasy “Life of Pi” co-starring Irfan Khan, The Drunkard knight “Porthos” in Leonardo Dicaprio’s “The Man in the Iron Mask” and Obelix in the “Asterix and Obelix” series. Gerard is a celebrated actor and completed 170 movies since the start of his career in 1967. Apart from Acting and filmmaking, Depardieu is also a successful businessman and owns a lot of properties around France mainly as vineyards. Amidst the Russian economic crisis, he recently launched a luxury watch made by the famous Switzerland watchmaker Custos, and named the watch “Proud to be a Russian” this watch was priced at around £10,000 and was highly criticized by people.

Depardieu has always had a strange love for controversies, and his recent notoriety includes urinating on the carpet of a Major Airlines and recent association with Chechnya’s ruthless leader Ramzan Kadyrov, which resulting in Ukraine banning him from Television and Movies. Depardieu, who once played the character of a Frenchman desperate for American citizenship, has now openly claimed that the U.S is the reason for the world’s destruction, and they are solely responsible for every world problem.
