Fritz Heinrich Rasp is a German movie actor. He was born on 13th of May in 1891. His birthplace was Bayreuth in Germany. He had appeared in more than 104 films in the period of 1916 to 1976. He was amongst the thirteenth child in his family. His father was a surveyor. From 1908 to 1909, he attended Theaterschule Otto Konig in Munich. He performed on stage in 1909. He had seen as an actor in several reputed theaters of Germany. He had worked with top directors like Max Reinhardt and Bertolt Brecht, and actors like Joseph Schildkraut, Albert Bassermann, and Werner Krauss. He had his first debut in 1916 and had done screenplays with the company of his friend cum director named Ernst Lubitsch. In the 1920s, he had played different characters in the period of the Golden Age of Cinema in Germany. He had known as the most successful villains in the German industry.
Some of his known works include 1916’s Shoe Palace Pinkus. It is a comedy drama. Ernst Lubitsch directed it. Ernst Lubitsch, Ossi Oswalda, Guido Herzfeld, and Else Kentner are the stars. In 1931, he had seen in Tropical Nights. Leo Mittler directed it. Paul Reno produced it. Joseph Conrad, Egon Eis, William Slavens McNutt, Grover Jones, and Rudolph Cartier starred in it. Other works include 1923’s Between Evening and Morning, 1932’s The Sorceror, 1923’s Warning Shadows, 1934’s Little Dorrit, 1935’s Askew, and 1925’s Comedians. He played the role of J.J Peachum in The Threepenny Opera. Then, he portrayed himself as Meinert in Diary of a Lost Girl, as a bank robber named Grundeis in 1931’s Emil and the Detectives, and in Orphan of Lowood as Mr. Brocklehurst.
In 1927, he had done a mystery ingénue of Der Schmale in Metropolis. He did Edgar Wallace produced cinemas. In 1975, he did a comedy drama titled Lina Braake. He featured as a pensioner. His list of works is very lengthy. Other works are 1930’s The Dreyfus Case, 1930’s The Great Longing, 1960’s Der rote Kreis, 1960’s The Terrible People, 1955’s Magic Fire, 1943’s Paracelsus, 1927’s The Last Waltz, and 1928’s Spring. Then, he did 1928’s Docks of Hamburg, and 1928’s The Mysterious Mirror.
He did 1929’s Spring Awakening, 1939’s Woman in the River, 1938’s So You Don’t Know Korff Yet, 1946’s Somewhere in Berlin, 1929’s The Hound of the Baskervilles, and 1929’s Dairy of a Lost Girl. In 1963, he had received awards with the tag of Film Band in Gold for his excellent work in German picture industry. He died on 30th of November 1976 in Grafelfing, Germany.
