Peter Levy is a well-known television presenter associated with BBC. He was born in Kent, England. He completed his schooling from Cornwall. He was an actor in his teenage and later took to Radio Jockey. Today he is an established British presenter for news programs. He is known for his impeccable presenting style and interesting interviews.
He has numerous shows at his credits. He was also linked with soap opera actress Malandra Burrows. His popular weather forecasting show alongside Paul Hudson is also enjoyed by fans. He is shy but lively and works tremendously all throughout. During his teenage Peter enacted in shows such as Dixon of Dock Greens, Man about the house and Z-Cars. He had a small role in the show ‘Coronation Street’, a humorous soap opera. Levy also performed in few musical comedy stage shows.
All through this, he kept himself to Yorkshire. He also played supporting roles in shows such as ‘The Mike Yarwood Show’ and ‘The Comedy Playhouse’. In 1975 he got a chance to work as a radio jockey at The Pulse of West Yorkshire. Here he was interviewed by the famous Austin Mitchell. Later he became the drive slot presenter of Liverpool’s Radio City. Peter got associated with BBC in 1987.Here he was the news reader for a long time and had his BBC radio show. In 2002, he became the presenter for the show ‘Look North’. This show was the milestone of his career. It was broadcasted all over North England’s major areas – Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Cumbria.
He became the face of television. BBC weather forecast with Keeley Donovan and Paul Hudson are some of Peter’s great shows which are appreciated all through Europe. In 2008 he worked with Radio Humberside along a new show called ‘The Peter Levy show.’ It was aired from 12-2pm. Since then he is the voice of local radio. Levy has made cameo appearances in television shows such as The league of gentlemen and Last of the Summer Wine. He has also been a part of many country events. Peter is currently the host of Look North’s new version show broadcasted from Kingston upon Hull. It is an all new East Yorkshire version of Look North. It is a nightly news program in the city.
