Eric was born in Columbus, Ohio, USA. His schooling was in Ohio, Florence and Italy. He finished high school in West Berlin. He graduated from University of California with a triple-major in Photography, Anthropology with honours and Political Economy. He is a renowned cinematographer in the industry. From the first time he got acquainted with a camera at 14, he was hooked. His love for photography only deepened by age. He won the Chancellor’s Award for art for his capturing of Northern Ireland.
Later on when he shot his first film which was in black and white, his talents in the field were further recognised. He won the Student Academy Award for that. He has worked on plenty of documentaries and films since then. Some of his more popular works are Heart of sky, Heart of Earth (2011), Frozen Angels (2005) and Nach dem fall (2000). Black also received a stipend at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. All his accomplishments cater to the belief that he is remarkable in his field.
