Christopher Popp is a Hollywood cinematographer who was born in Mainz, Germany. He completed his graduation from the state Vocational School for Photography and Media. He has a keen interest in the cinematography and television industries. This passion led him to work in the film industry, starting his career as a camera assistant. Christopher gained experience working for the German Television Station ZDF on various television series and documentaries. Seeking to expand his knowledge, skills, and advance studies of films and television, Christopher went to lost Angeles, California, where he completed his studies at American Film Institute. Christopher has worked as a cinematographer on documentaries in various countries, including Great Britain, Egypt, Israel, Italy, the Soviet Union, France, Canada, Libya, and the United States.
His passion for cinematography made him to experience different corners of the world. He worked for the Canadian German Co-production Music of Kust Weill: September Songs, which received the “International Emmy Award for Best Arts Documentary” in 1999 and Golden Prague for Best Photography in 1998. Christopher began his cinematography journey by working on short films like “This Is Henry Lehman,” Shadow, and String. His remarkable achievements in cinematography were recognized when he received the Gregg Toland Heritage Award from the American Society of Cinematography in 2000.
In 2oo4, he shot “ Lakshya Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (an epic Bollywood War film) in India, for which he won the Filmfare Award for the best cinematographer and Global Indian Filmfare Award (GIFA) in 2005. He is also known for his work in Films like “Night Train” (2009), and “Five” (2011). His Work in Dinosaur Revolution Who doesn't know about Discovery Channel? Disc >> Read More... (2011), Dinostasia( 2012), and Dinostatia Dinosaur Chronicle (2018) is considered his fabulous work of art.
Additionally, he worked on projects like “The American: Joe McCarthy,” “Balls to the Walls,” “Herclock,” and many others, which have been screened at International Film Festivals and on television in the United States and Europe. Christopher was passionate about narrative storytelling, and after working as a director of photography in short films, documentaries, and Television movies, he changed his career to become a writer. He is working on his novel, “The Impossible Event,” a mystery-thriller series book with two parts.
