Jason Watkins is an English American stage, film & television actor. He was born on October 28, 1962. Jason Watkins’s place of birth is Windsor Road, Albrighton, Shropshire in England. He lived there until seven years of age. Then, his parents shifted to Wolverhampton. His father’s name is Alan, who was a metallurgist. While his mother was a teacher at Albrighton’s Primary School. He first married Caroline Harding, with whom he has two sons, namely Freddie and Pip. After got divorced, he married Clara Francis, a jewelry and fashion designer, in 2014. He has three children, namely Bessie, Gilbert, and Maude. On New Year’s Day 2011, his two aged daughter, Maude, died of sepsis.

Later, he dedicated to her his 2015 BAFTA award and campaigns for greater awareness of sepsis. Jason Watkins trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and he made himself a stage actor. He is a part of the National Theatre Company. In 2001, for his performance in A Servant For Two Masters, he got nominated for Laurence Olivier Theatre Award (2000 season) for Best Supporting Actor. Also, he won the Outstanding Lead Actor at Helen Hayes Awards in 2002. His theatre work includes Philistines & Landscape with Weapon (by Joe Penhall) at the National Theatre, London (2007), Rafts and Dreams at the Royal Court Theatre, and A Laughing Matter (by April De Angelis) at the Liverpool Playhouse in 2003.

In 2018, he portrayed the predatory serial killer Ralph in the play “ Frozen Click to look into! >> Read More... ” by Bryony Lavery, a British dramatist, at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Jason Watkins’s more notable television roles have included the crime suspect Jason Buliegh in Conviction; the vampire leader William Herrick in Being Human The show ended in the year 2013 and still has the >> Read More... ; Bradley Stainer in Funland; and the dog-walking crime witness Francis Cross in Five Days. In 2014, he portrayed the leading role in a two-part ITV drama titled “The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies,” it was about the initial suspect in the 2010 murder of Joana Yeates.

For which, he won the Leading Actor and Mini-Series at British Academy Television Awards in 2015. He received the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor for his performance. He also received the Best Drama Serial Award at the Royal Television Society Awards. He portrayed Prime Minister Harold Wilson in the third Netflix drama series, titled The Crown. For his performance in the series, he won the “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series” at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
