Director Of Photography

 Director of photography is responsible for the creation of the visual identity of the film, for this he works with the director, art directors, make-up crew, wardrobe crew, camera persons and the lighting department. A good knowledge about photography, camera equipment's, moving images, lighting methods and also good communication skills are required to be Director of Photography. He/she is the head of the production unit and he is the chief cinematographer. He works with the director to discuss about the various lighting, camera angles, usage of camera equipment's, the frames, camera movements and transforming the story into visuals. He works directly under the supervision of the director of the film.

A Director of Photography should be highly trained in all the fields of photography and should be up to date with all the latest evolving camera trends and equipment's. The director of photography gives life to a story, all the members in the camera crew work under his direction. The director of photography before a month of the shooting discusses and plans about the locations, the mood and style of the film with the director. After the shooting, he works with the editing team and helps them with the editing process of the film. Sometimes, after the shooting and the editing process, the film goes through the certification of censor and it could go through editing and also shooting sometimes.
