Mir Afsar Ali is an Indian Radio Jockey, television Actor, Anchor, Comedian, and Singer who was born on 13th February 1975 in Murshidabad, West Bengal. He completed his schooling at The Assembly of God Church School, Kolkata, and graduated from Umes Chandra College. Later, he married Soma Bhattacharjee on 16th May 1997. His wife is a doctor by profession and they have a daughter named Muskan.
His first film debut was in 2006 in The Bong Connection, and his first TV debut was in Khas Khobor as a newsreader. He is a host of the show Mirakkel, a comedy show which was broadcasted on Zee Bangla. He also does a show called Sunday Suspense on Radio Mirchi where suspense stories are read.
Afsar was born in a strict and conservative Muslim family and used to listen to the radio for long hours as a child. Television was not allowed in the house before he completed junior high school. He ended up in the business by chance. On one rainy day in 1994, he was on his way home after picking up laundry when he saw an advertisement which said auditions were being held for Radio Jockeys for a radio station which was to be launched soon. This is how Afsar made a career out of it. Gradually, he decided to explore more and also tried acting and comedy. He became aware of his comic side by competing in events and making people laugh by cracking jokes. The TV show Mirakkel established him as the comedy king of the city.
Afsar’s career has been growing since then. His work is incessantly applauded by the audience.
