Raipurna has two sisters, Nilanjana and Srowtashini, and an elder brother Vikram. They are affectionate with each other. Vikram is physically impaired. Their father, Kingshuk, is the sole breadwinner of the family. Raipurna and Surjyo are in love. Their marriage is fixed with the acceptance of both their families. Unfortunately, on the day of Raipurna and Surjyo’s marriage, Raipurna’s father dies. As the elder one, she took responsibility of her family and gets Nilanjana married to Surjyo. Raipurna had to face many humiliations, and so did Nilanjana and Surjyo. After Nilanjana gets pregnant, all these troubles vanish. Srowtashini is doing her medical graduation at a University. She clashes with Siddharth, her professor.
Meanwhile, Raipurna gets a secretary job in a company. She helps her boss, Anirban Sen, in preparing food to keep her job secure, as she is the only earning member in the house. Later, she was framed that she has stolen Rs 23 Lakh from Anirban’s office. However, the police find out that Anirban’s friend is the culprit behind this theft drama. Anirban fires him from the job and apologizes to Raipurna in front of all the staff. Accepting his apology, Raipurna leaves the office. Anirban finds a letter from Raipurna. He thinks that it might be a leave letter, but finds it out that it is a resignation letter. Heartbroken, Anirban visits her house and meets her mother and brother. What happens next? The rest of the series deals with the lives of Raipurna and Anirban and their families.
