The soap opera had been created by Ross Petals Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. On 31 January 2011, the first episode of this show came on screens. The show continued for about more than three years before finally telecasting its last episode on 1 February 2014. The show had received a huge amount of appreciation during its time. It had been one of the top-rated television soap operas in the Malayalam industry.
The channel that this series was being telecasted was Asianet, and about seven hundred and eighty-five episodes were aired on this show. Each episode of this series had been made of about twenty-two minutes approximately. The story of the show is based on a professor and her illegitimate daughter. The professor’s name in the story is Jayanthi, and her daughter is named Shalini. At birth, Shalini was separated from her Jayanthi. But Jayanthi had no knowledge of her being alive, as she was told that Shalini died at birth. Due to which, she was raised for a little time being by a butcher. The butcher was very cruel to her. He used always treat her very unkindly. On this note, Shalini was shifted to a better home, where she had better foster parents and Shalini even got to have a brother here. The biological son of Shalini’s foster parents was named Mahesh.
Eventually, as they both grow up, Shalini and Mahesh decide to get married. But there’s a twitch in the tale. Jayanthi suddenly realizes that Shalini is indeed her daughter and that her belief of Shalini being dead was completely wrong. A couple of other highlighting characters without whom the story would not have been complete was Jithan, who was played by Amith, Prabha, who was played by Lishoy, Rudhran, who was played Shanavas, and a few others.
