As a result, both the siblings get into fight and argument with each other. Seemingly dumb, Dee Dee often outwits Dexter but also saves him from any such dangers. Dexter on the other hand though annoyed by his big sister's unofficial infiltration into the lab for sheer enjoyment, loves and defends her in every possible manner. Voiced by Eddie Deezen, Susan "Mandark" Astronomonov is Dexter's arch- rival and genius boy from his school. He also owns a laboratory but conspire evil schemes and designs to destroy Dexter's achievements. Mandark becomes more wicked in the revival series of the show, stealing Dexter's plans to accomplish his deeds. Dee Dee is his weakness and he attempts several efforts to woo her but still gets rejected.

Dexter’s Laboratory has been voted the most successful and highest rated original series in the years 1996, 1997 and 2002 respectively for Cartoon Network. It garnered the ‘Best Script’ award at the ‘Cartoons on the Bay Festival’ in the year 1997 in Italy. Alongside many other iconic characters, a Dexter balloon was featured at the ‘Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade’ in the year 1998 and 1999 respectively. Cartoon Network’s rating surged over 20% in the summer of 1999 as a result of this show. It also won three Annie Awards in the years 1995, 1997 and 2000 subsequently.
