“Stree” is a Bengali soap opera on Zee Bangla that premiered on 26th December 2016 and continued until 11th February 2018 with 409 episodes in total. The story revolves around a strong and independent woman named Nirupama, fondly called Niru, who is about to get married to Aksar Sen. As the marriage is arranged, she doesn’t get to know Aksar before the ties are secured, however, on her wedding day, she is devastated to know that her fiancé is a paralyzed man.
To save the reputation of the family and taking pity on Aksar she goes through with the marriage. However, after the marriage, she gradually discovers several secrets and the dark plans of the family. She discovers that Aksar’s paralysis is a result of one of the dark plans of his own family and she vows to protect him from the evil. A bond forms between the two of them and she gradually falls in love with the man. All this time she doubles her efforts to restore the sensations in his legs by proper care and check-up. Eventually, her efforts are successful and Aksar overcomes his paralysis and together they fight against all odds and obstacles to retain their love, family, and everything which they hold close to their hearts.
