Amiya Tagore was born on February 12th, 1908. She was a prominent Bengali Rabindra Sangeet vocalist. She was privileged enough to be the disciple of the eminent poet Rabindranath Tagore. She portrayed Pramada in Tagore's dance drama "Mayar Khela," directed by the poet. Amiya Tagore became part of the Tagore family after marrying Hridindranath Tagore, the grandson of Rabindranath Tagore's elder brother. Following her marriage, Amiya Tagore only performed in public on Rabindranath Tagore's birthdays. Her early education was at Calcutta's Bethune School and later at Bethune College. She began her musical education with a Muslim ustad and afterward studied classical music with Nagendra Kishore Bandyopadhyay.

She is the daughter of the late acclaimed poet and composer Salil Chowdhury and the well-known singer Sabita Chowdhury. Abdul Latif was a Bangladeshi singer born in 1927 at Raipasha village of Barisal District, Bengal. He did his schooling at Ruphshahya High School and further completed higher studies at Kolkata. In 1948, he joined Radio Pakistan and worked as a staff artiste where he wrote more than 1000 songs and later, composed the song Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano, written by Abdul gaffer Choudhury. Some songs like Ora Amar Mukher Kotha, Shona Shona Lokey Boley Shona, and Ami dam diye kinechi Bangla are also composed by him.
