The Thirteenth International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony lit up the island city-country of Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium Esplanade Concert Hall from June 7 to June 9 honoring the best of 2012. The hocus-pocus of the grandest film festival engulfed the people of India with its ruthless extravagance on the cinematic carpets of glory and surrealism. Celebrating the completion of 100 splendid years of Indian Cinema, the hosts of the three-day event, Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar took the audience through the memorable campaign. Staging the battle of numerous outstanding dance performances, the dancing divas sashayed to the hoots of the spirited crowd.

Priyanka Chopra sizzled to the music of “Ho Pardesia” in tribute to the beauty in golden, Rekha while Bipasha Basu left the audience spellbound with her captivating moves. Shahid Kapoor danced to some Tamil numbers in a tapori avatar. Sonakshi Sinha also flushed the grandstand with her grooves on the hit ‘Chinta ta ta Chita Chita ’ of her recent release Rowdy Rathore. Prabhudeva, the Indian Michael Jackson took to his heels rendering the audience enthralled, gripping the center-stage in his typical fashion. The awards presentation ceremony credited Zoya Akhtar as The Best Director for the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara as The Best Film of the year 2011. Actor Ranbir Kapoor emerged triumphant winning the honor for The Best Actor in a Principal Performance as Janardhan Jakhar (JJ) /Jordan for the movie ' Rockstar'.

Vidya Balan won the award for The Best Actress in a prominent role as Reshma/Silk for The Dirty Picture. Parineeti Chopra bagged the award for her Debut Performance in the movie Ladies vs. Ricky Behl as Dimple Chaddha for The Best Actress in a Supporting Role and was seen delivering an emotional speech. The most talented, Farhan Akhtar secured the Best Actor award for the Performance in a Supporting Role in the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, which also won the honor for The Best Screenplay and Best Story by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar.

Male and Female Debutant Star awards were promisingly secured by Vidyut Jammwal and Parineeti Chopra in the wake of a new encouraging epoch of the Indian film fraternity. The title of Hottest Bollywood Pair as expectedly fell in the favor of Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri for their unmatchable chemistry in Rockstar. Ritesh Deshmukh in Double Dhamaal was presented with the Best Performance in a Comic character and Prakash Raj in Singham for the Best Performance in a Negative Role.

The Indian musical romantic drama film Rockstar rendered A.R. Rahman The Best Music award and Mohit Chauhan as the Best Singer (Male) for ‘Nadaan Parinde’. Shreya Ghosal secured the award for Best Singer (Female) for ‘Teri Meri’ in Bodyguard. The special award for IIFA 2012 Lifetime Achievement and the IIFA 2012 Green Globe Award were also presented to Rekha and Dia Mirza respectively. Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan amused the audience with his finest melodies ‘Bin Tere’, ‘Mitwa’ and ‘Ankhon Ka Sagar’and numerous others.

Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor set the stage ablaze each with phenomenal entries and later blending into the father-son duo act. Ranbir made his entry echoing the tunes of ‘Saadda Haq’ from his Rockstar with an electric guitar. Rishi appeared on the stage, quoting lines from the Om Shanti Om song of his legendary movie Karz - ‘Kya Tumne Kabhi Kisi Se Pyaar Kiya’ and gave a stupendous blow to the whole act marking the close of this eventful journey.
