Mithai is a Bengali romantic-comedy drama that premiered on January 4, 2021, on Zee Bangla. The Times of India said, "the show will tell you a sweet love story." There are 263 episodes, and each episode is 20-25 minutes long. The show is about a girl, Mithai, who is full of life, and she meets Siddhartha, who is arrogant, self-centered, and intelligent.
Mithai is a sweet seller, and she goes to the Modak family to sell them her sweets. Over time, she bonds with the family like they are her own. When Mithai runs away from a wedding to an unsuitable boy, their family gets her married to Siddhartha, even though they don't like each other at first. They start loving each other as time goes by.
The show is culturally rich, and it revolves around many Bengali sweets and well-known traditions. Samrat Ghosh was the creator of the show, and Saswati Ghosh wrote the screenplay and the story.
