Sandipta Sen was born on 27th August 1987 in West Bengal. She is a professional actor and dancer who had a deep passion for acting and dancing since her childhood. She plays the role of a home-maker who face an existential crisis in the house of her in-laws.

Durga was a character who was very much different from the natural character of Sandipta and the pains that she took to portray such a character really paid off since she was very well received from the Bengali T.V audience.The serial lasted till 2010 in the ‘Star Jalsa’ channel. After ‘Durga,’ she gets the chance to play the central character in a serial of the same channel and the show was named ‘Tapur Tapur’.

In the series, she plays as a young woman who has a problem with her sister and the whole serial is about how she undermines her sisters efforts to portray her in a bad light and her quest for self-discovery. Playing Tapur was easy for Sandipta since the character was a dancer and she was an excellent dancer. She had agreed for the marriage only for the sake of her daughter and the serial speaks about the cruelty that the society commits towards women in general. The serial started airing in 2014 and the same year, she received the ‘Tele Academy Award for Best Actress’ for her role as Tapur in ‘Tapur Tapur’. Sandipta considers the award as her biggest achievement that she received in her career.
