Plot
Gopanna(Akkineni Nagarjuna) marries Kamala(Sneha) and gets a job as revenue officer in Husnabad where he gets inspired by the devotion of Dammakka(Sujatha) towards Lord Rama(Suman) soon he becomes a devotee too and plans to build a Ram Mandir.
Star performance
Nagarjuna has delivered a fantastic performance, his devotion doesn't come off as over-the-top but sweet, Sneha as the devoted wife also played her role well. Suman, Sujatha, Nassar are also admirable in their respective roles. Brahmanandan and Sunil are casted as comic reliefs and they did their job well.
Analysis
The film’s story is simple and has been shown in a more simply, the director has deliberately focused more on the emotions than the luxury and it works, there is an excellent balance of dialect and language which does not make the audience feel alien to it. Nagarjuna is a celebrated mass hero and his decision to do this film will only increase his fans, he has showcased his acting muscles in every scene possible, his tone, body language, and nuances are all on point. The rest of the actors are also fantastic in their respective roles. The music of this film is also breathtaking, the film has 19 songs and each one is easily assimilated into the storyline and has enhanced the overall emotional depth of the film. The cinematography is also good, the dialogues deserve a shout out as they are in Telugu and Sanskrit but are written in a manner that can be understood. The first half of the film is mainly for establishing it can be dull as most of those scenes were used in the promotions. The second half is where the film picks up the pace and moves forward. All and all Sri Ramadasu should be your go-to film this week, it has nuance, fantastic performances, and Nagarjuna in a new avatar.
