Duvvasi Mohan is a popular comedian, who predominantly appears in more than 300 Telugu films. He was usually seen doing an office assistant role in many of his films. He hailed from Jagityal in Karimnagar and started his career as a financier and producer. He shared that no one in his family or friends knew someone from the film industry, and he came as a novice with no one to guide him about the basics of the film production.

A doctor introduced him into films, but they are both oblivious on how the industry works. Nevertheless, they took the risk and started working on four films with a hope to acquire profits, but they were left with credits and losses. His real name is Duvvasi Mohan Kumar; but after he had failed as a producer, his name was changed into Duvvasi Mohan, and when he stopped financing films, people stopped calling him Duvvasi Mohan.

When he became an actor, he became popular with his first name alone. He is the son of D. Gangaram and D. Manikyamma. Duvvasi got married to D. Sandhya Rani, and they have one daughter named D. Sneha. He started acting in director Muppalaneni Siva’s Korukunna Priyudu in the year 1997, where he acted with Vadde Naveen, Prema, Chandra Mohan, Srihari and more.

Few years later, he appeared in Telugu films like Chiranjeevulu, Jayam, Okariki Okaru, Jai, Sakhiya, Ammayi Bagundi, Samanyudu, Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila, Bahumathi, Kurkure, Putrudu, Saradaga Kasepu, Seeta Ramula Kalyanam, Prathi Roju, All The Best, Made in Vizag, Athada Aame O Scooter, Gola Seenu, Race Gurram, Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam, Paisa, Pyar Mein Padipoyane, Band Baaja, Modhodu, Mosagallaku Mosagadu and many more. In 2005, he was seen in the Malayalam romance film, Manju Peyyum Munpe, which stars Shivaji and Meera Jasmine.

In the current year of 2016, he is expected to appear in Chettukinda Pellikoduku and Praneeth’s Ramudu Manchi Baludu.

He is also set to star in the romance comedy film, Mano Balam, together with Krishna Surya, Vijaya Naidu, and Kondavalasa and in MA Chowdary’s Parvathipuram. Duvvasi has some films in his kitty for the year 2017. The fact proves how talented he is in doing comedy roles.

J V Somayajulu

J V Somayajulu is a versatile actor in Telugu film industry,  who acted in about 150 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi of which Shankarabharanam. Vamsavruksham and Saptapadhi also became hits. His journey in films started iin 1980 and he shot to national fame with his maiden film Shankarabharanam. He essayed the lead role of Shankara Shastry, a puritan of Carnatic music, and became a legend. He was born in August 1928, in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, Somayajulu became a renowned stage artiste and played the role of Ramappa Panthulu to perfection in the evergreen play Kanyasulkam written by the legendary Gurujada Apparao. Somayajulu, also served as head of the department of theater arts in Telugu University. His performance in Telugu classic film ‘’Shankarabharanam’’ is among the 25 greatest acting performances ever witnessed in Indian cinema. Telugu film Sankarabharanam has been a beautiful illustration of how musical movies with classical songs and dances can break the barriers of language and boundaries and reach everyone. The film was screened in the Moscow International Film Festival (1980) and even also won the Prize of the Public at the Besancon Film Festival of France in the year 1981. Even after three decades, the magic remains evergreen still. Besides acting, he had done several performances in state during four decades of theater activity. He was just 16 when he made his debut on the stage as a student in 1944 in his college. He had a rich voice, flawless expression, majestic figure and above all, abiding love for stage. Overnight he became a celebrity with success of Shankarabharanam. After the success of Shankarabharanam, he had even portrayed Vaggayakara 'Thyagaraja' in a magnum opus directed by Bapu. The actor passed away at age of 76, leaving behind his wife, two sons, and a daughter. He served as special deputy collector in Vishakapatnam Urban Development Authority, before making a debut in cinema.
