Plot
Set in the village of Vetapalem, Ganga, a young fisherman who makes his end meet with honesty and dignity and opposes those who go the unethical way.Â
Star performance
Ramakanth as the fisherman is sincere, he is not required to do much but does his job convincingly, Avanthika is only restricted to the romantic aspect. Suman does a fantastic job as a police officer because he is experienced in performing such roles.
Analysis
The film is honestly average. The makers only took the subject and commercialized it. The topic itself has much to provide but the makers don't do any justice to it instead they offer the same generic commercial template film. The first half is stretched for no reason, more focus is on the romantic scenes not the struggles the villagers are facing. The actors have done their job well. Suman is the clear standout. The cinematography is good. The sea sequences are shot well. One of the most significant issues with this film is it lacks emotional depth, and there is no connection. This film is for the mass audience, even for that, there needs to be some depth and connection required for the storyline, which this film lacks. The film is in good production but lacks in the technical departments except cinematography. Samudrudu is an average masala action drama that is made for the mass audience because the story lacks depth but makes the audience (mass) get swept.
