M.M. Keeravani is an established Music Director and a singer in Telugu Film Industry. He is the cousin of the hit Director S.S. Rajamouli. He is known as M.M. Kreem is Bollywood and Marakathamani in Tollywood. S.P. Balasubramanyam and K.S. Chitra have sung the maximum number of songs for his composition.
M.M. Keeravani was born in Kovvur, in Andhra Pradesh. He is coming from an artistic family. His brother
Kalyani Malik is also a Tollywood Music Composer. He started his musical career in the year 1987, by joining as an Assistant under Composer K.Chakravarthy. In this period, he also got trained under the expert Lyricist Veturi. Keeravani made his debut through the film Kalki in the year 1990. Unfortunately, that movie got shelved, and the music was also not noted by the public. In the same year, Keeravani shot to fame through the film Manasu Mamatha, directed by Mouli.
The following year, Keeravani recorded music for the movie KshanaKshanam, directed by Ram GopalVarma, which made him the most sought-after Composer. The songs he had composed were chart busters and made the whole cine world turn back and look at him. This recognition got him a chance to compose for the Hindi film, Criminal (1995), starring Actor Nagarjuna. Other Hindi movies for which he had created music are "Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin", "Sur – The Melody of Life", "Zakhm", "
Saaya", "Jism", and "
Paheli". In Mollywood, he had recorded for "Neelagiri", "Sooryamanasam", "
Devaragam" and so on.
In Tamil, he composed the songs of Mammootty starring movie "Azhagan". In total, he has composed for 220 movies in several Indian languages. Keeravani received the National Award for his contribution as the Music Director, for the film Annamayya, in the year 1997. He has won several FilmFare Awards, Andhra Pradesh State Film Awards and Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for his excellent music composition and playback singing. M.M. Keeravani got married to Srivalli, who is the line Producer of various movies.
