Caarthick Raju

Caarthick Raju is a Tamil film director and visual effects coordinator. He has been active in the movie business for about seventeen years now. A lot of his visual effects work has been for Tamil films although he has been credited for the effects in some popular Bollywood films as well. In the year 2014, he branched out into directing films. Since then, he has directed another movie that is in the post-production phase.

Raju reunited with Ajay Devgn to work in the film 'Raju Chacha', a film that was Devgn's first foray into production. While the film didn't fare well critically and commercially, it did win the Screen Award for Best Special Effects in 2001. His next high-profile job came when he as the senior compositor for Nayak: The Real Hero, a political film that was the remake of a Tamil film.

The movie did poorly at the box office but has since acquired the status of a cult hit among audiences. After the completion of this film, he began working on another film with Dinesh. This one is titled 'Ulkuthu' and will once again feature a healthy dose of both comedy and action throughout the film. The film has been completed and is currently in the post-production phase. Raju recently revealed that plans were on to release the film sometime in August 2016.
