Plot

Kaliyarasan and Dhansika are the couples. Kalaiyarasan is a novelist. As the craze for his writing slowly diminishes, Kalaiyarasan wanted to get his fans back with a different horror story. So, he sets on a journey to Mega Malai, leaving his wife Dhansika at home. When he starts writing his horror story, he gets scared by some unconventional happenings. The situation becomes worse, when his wife Dhansika reaches the same place, where he stays. At a particular stage, Dhansika gets affected by the happenings in Mega Malai. A hooded person tries to attack Kalaiyarasan. What happens next? Did Kalai and Dhansika escape from the place? Why these supernatural things happen? Are they really supernatural or manmade? Watch the film in theaters.

Star Performance

Kalaiyarasan has performed pretty well as a novelist. His minute expressions during the scary scenes are fantastic. However, he couldn’t stand before the performance of Dhansika. This girl steals the show by her natural performance. Dhansika had really taken a lot of risks in the film, even the heroes hesitate to do. Kudos to her dedication!

Analysis

Although we have seen a lot of horror films, Uru is a bit different from them. Vicky Anand has scripted something new and has grabbed the attraction of the audiences.

What’s There?

Performance of Dhansika and Kalaiyarasan is astonishing
The cinematography is stunning and the background score creates more eerie moments
The screenplay is good in the second half; it makes the audience experience nail biting moments

What’s Not There?

The sound effects are very loud at times
The length of the film is one of the biggest drawbacks; the first half should have been trimmed a bit

Verdict

If we sideline the negative points, Uru is one among the best horror movies in the recent times. Hope, this weekend would be a horror weekend at the theaters! Uru – definitely watch worthy!
