Naanum Rowdythaan is a film which has created huge expectations and has been making rounds in the social media for a while. And much to the enjoyment of fans it has hit the theatres today.
Vijay Sethupathi, who dreams of becoming a rowdy (much against the aspiration of his mother Raadhika) gets enamored by Nayantara, who is a deaf girl, and falls for her. Nayantara, requests Vijay to avenge Parthiepan, the don, who took away the life of her father. This is the plot of the story.
Nayantara is one actress who seems to prove that she is here to prove a point; she can sustain in the industry for a right time. In this film, she is the right blend of beauty and talent. She lifts the film frame by frame through her exemplar y performance. Parthiepan has done an awesome job as the Don, who delivers humorous one-liners. It will surely tickle your humorous bones. And not to forget Anandaraj who has done his best with the limited scope.
Cinematography of George C Williams is brilliant Anirudh’s music is appropriate and awesome Editing of Sreekar Prasad Last but not the least, Direction of Vignesh Selvan has delivered an entertaining piece with just a simple plot.
What’s not there?
The screenplay is written in such a way that the film lags in the second half.
Vijay Sethupathi have their own distinctive styles of acting and they have indeed come a long way in the industry. However, the stars didn’t favor Vijay Sethupathi for quite some time since his earlier flicks Orange Mittai and Purambokku failed to set the cash registers ringing. But otherwise Vijay Sethupathy is a bankable star, when one gets a peep into his filmography. And as far as Nayan is concerned she is fresh from the success of Maya. And very soon we will know whether the film will work wonders in the box office. Being a production venture of Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films this flick has indeed raised the bars.
