RJ Balaji is the famous name of Balaji Patturaj. He was born on the 20th in the month of June in 1985. He is a famous Indian Radio jockey, comedian, actor based in Tamil Nadu. From his childhood, he was brought up in Chennai.

In an interview with Hindu newspaper, he says that he changed nearly twenty-seven houses and studied in ten schools. While he was pursuing a PG Diploma in Journalism at Coimbatore, he gave auditions to a famous radio station there. He became a radio jockey in the month of November 2006. In his first show, he talked about social issues.

After working for four years in Coimbatore, he came back to Chennai and started RJ'ying at BIG FM 92.7 radio station. His famous show ‘Talk it easy’made him successful RJ in Tamil Nadu. It has 16 segments. In his 4 hour show, he created a section named ‘Cross Talk’ in which he used to make calls and trick some random people.

This show went viral among Tamil Nadu Youth and also among Tamilians living abroad. Balaji stopped this show after the suicide of Jacintha Saldanha in London who was pranked by an Australian radio station in December 2012.

He started another segment named ‘120RS’ in which he reviewed Tamil movies. Many people from Tamil film industry severely criticized Balaji for his Tamil movie reviews. He also had a spat with a UTV employee for critical review of Tamil remake of Delhi Belly, Settai. After some months, he ended the segment 120rs.

Through Twitter, he expressed his decision of ending 120rs show for creating better work-life balance. He also tweeted that he cannot speak sugar coated lines and will stop reviewing Tamil movies until there is tolerance among some people from Tamil film Industry.

In 2013, in Ethir Neechal movie he played a guest role. This movie is directed by R.S. Durai. After this movie, as a Hero’s colleague in Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru, he played a complete role. His role name was Karna.

He played roles in Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, Vadacurry as Karikalan, Idhu Enna Maayam as Arun’s friend, Yatchan as Chandru, Naanum Rowdydhaan as Doshi Baba. Balaji created a YouTube channel named ‘Panjumittai Productions’, in which he uploads short videos dealing with contemporary issues.

He uploaded the third video deliberately titled ‘RJ Balaji abusing Sachin Tendulkar’ to catch the attention of majority people. This video got a heart donor for Kavya within two weeks. During 2015 Chennai floods, he helped a lot of individuals who lost their homes. He acted in Pugazh and Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which are set to release in 2016.
