Plot

Gandhi Mahan grows with Gandhian principles taught by his father. He gets married to Nachi and has a son, Dada. After a certain period, he is fed up with his life and separates from his family. Soon, he becomes wealthy after acquiring a liquor business in partnership with his childhood friend, Sathyavan. Meanwhile, his son Dada grows up and becomes a cop. He decides to eradicate the liquor barons and even challenges Mahan. Now, what will Mahan do? Will he save his friend or stand by his son? The rest of the film deals with it.

Star Performance

Chiyaan Vikram excels in his role. He is very natural with his expressions and body language. Dhruv has improved a lot from his previous film and gives a mass entry. Simran didn’t have a big role, yet does neatly what is required for her role. Bobby Simha has got a meaty role and he has performed well. Sananth’s performance is also appreciable.

Analysis

After a huge negative criticism for Jagame Thandhiram, Karthik Subbaraj has come up with a classy and mass entertainer to make movie lovers happy. The film has all the required elements for a mass film with solid performers. The characters are designed well. All the artists fit well in the role and added great value to the subject. Karthik Subbaraj’s narration is good. The intro scenes are neat and perfect. Although the execution is neat, the length of the film should have been trimmed a bit. While watching the film, most Vikram fans will feel that the film should have been released in theatres. The mass elements in the film make the audience feel like to have a mass-watch. Santosh Narayanan’s BGM is not much impressive.The visuals by Shreyaas are perfect.

With a solid performance-oriented script and talented actors, Karthik Subbaraj has made a mass entertainer and satisfied action movie lovers. If you are a Vikram fan, you would like it for sure. The general moviegoers would lift their thumbs up to show that the film is definitely a one-time watch!
