Kazhugu 2” is scripted and directed by " Sathyasiva." “ Manobala” produces the film. Krishna Kulasekaran, Bindu Madhavi, MS Bhaskar, Kaali Venkat, Crane Manohar and Yaashika Aannand are in the cast. Raja Bhattacharjee cranked the camera and Gopi Krishna edited the film. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music.

In a Kodaikanal estate, there are lots of Dholes disturbing the people who come to work in the estate and they even kill them. So, none shows interest to work in the estate. The management decided to employ some hunters in the estate. Thus, the PA to the estate owner moves to Theni in search of such hunters. On his way, he sees two guys running with rifles. He thinks that they are hunters. Actually, they are thieves and had stolen the police rife. He meets them and employs them to hunt the dholes. They both accept the job, as they could escape from the cops. After they join the estate, the people return to the jobs and the daughter of the PA joins there. One day, the dholes rounded her up. The hero saves her from it. She falls for him, but her father is against love. The hero decided to do a colossal theft and settle in life with his lady love. Did he succeed? Watch the film.

Star Performance

Krishna is good in his performance. He is natural in acting and action. Bindu Madhavi is fine in her role. Kaali Venkat is natural, as usual. The rest of the stars have don what is required for their character.

Although it is titled as Kazhugu 2, this film didn’t have any connection with Kazhugu. Raja Bhattacharjee’s cinematography is excellent and he has beautifully visualized Kodaikanal’s beauty. The estate and the lives of the tribal people are shown perfectly. The screenplay is not gripping. The cast selection is good and the stars impress. Yuvan Shankar’s BGM is good. Although the songs gel well with the script, they didn’t touch the hearts. The romantic scenes between Krishna and Bindhu are not impressive and they seem to be inserted forcedly.

What’s There?

  • Cinematography and BGM are the plus points

What’s Not There?

  • Forced romantic scenes
  • Weak story and screenplay

If the story and screenplay had been gripping, the film might have attracted the audience. Kazhugu 2 is not a must-watch film. If you don’t have any movies for this weekend, you could try this.
