Kaathadi” is a comedy-drama movie scripted and directed by “Kalyaan.” The film features Avishek Karthik and “Dhansika” in the lead roles. Avishek is none other than the nephew of “ Sridevi.” Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sampath Raj, Daniel Annie Pope, “ Rajendran,” Kaali Venkat, Jangiri Madhumitha, VS Raghavan, Baby Sathanya, Lollu Sabha Manohar, “ Manobala” and John Vijay are in the supporting cast. The music composition is by Deepan and Pavan. Jemin Jom Ayyaneth cranked the camera and Vijay Velu Kutty is the editor. Srinivas Sambandam, V. N. Ranjith Kumar and K. Sasikumar are the producers.

Shakthi and his friend Thuppaki plan to kidnap a kid and claim a ransom from her family. The same had been planned by another gang. But, the abduction plan of Shakthi goes in vain. To escape from the terrible situation, how did they manage? Watch the film in theaters.

Star Performance

Although it is Avishek’s first film as a hero, he was already seen in Nadunisi Naaigal. He seems to be uncomfortable in some situations. Daniel Annie Pope plays well in the given role. John Vijay has done a neat job. Dhansika and others don’t have anything to do with this film. How the biggies Kota Srinivasa Rao and Sampath committed doing this film?

This is Kalyaan’s debut film. But, before the release of his debut film, his next two films released and made him popular in Kollywood. Yes, Kalyaan is the director of Prabhu Deva and Hansika Motwani starrer, “Gulaebhaghavali” and Kadha Solla Porom. Although it released late and we could witness late actor VS Raghavan, the film didn’t make us feel that it is outdated.

What’s There?

  • The BGM is good
  • The runtime of the film is short and it didn’t test our patience

What’s Not There?

  • Nothing new in the story
  • Talented Senior stars are wasted
  • The hero requires a couple of films to enter the comfort zone

Although the film is not very interesting, it didn’t make us bore. Kaathadi is a one-time watch!
