Kalyaan

Kalyaan is an Indian director working in the Tamil film industry, known for his successful films like Gulaebaghavali and Jackpot. He started his career as a movie director in the year 2014. He's also a brilliant screenwriter. After winning the second season of the Tamil reality show Naalaiya Iyakkunar, Kalyaan made a breakthrough as a possible director within the Tamil film industry. He began making his directorial debut film, Katha Solla Porom, in 2014, but the film didn't find distributors and was on hold. He then began to work on the movie Kaathadi in October 2014. At the same time, Avishek Karthik, previously seen in Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vaaranam Aayiram (2008) and Nadunisi Naaygal (2011), was selected to portray the lead actor.

The film began production in late 2014 and was in the post-production phase by October 2015. The movie was shot extensively in Chennai, Kerala, and the Yelagiri hills, an extended delay before the discharge of the film meant that the other films in Kalyaan's career, Katha Solla Porom (2016) and Gulaebaghavali (2018), were released before Kaathadi, which released in February 2018. He's a superb director. His latest film was Jalsa, released in 2021.
