Plot

The film is about a physically disabled man, Sreekuttan, and his alcoholic companion, Bhavya, who come across a police officer. The police officer insults and abuses them. Angered, they both decide to take revenge.                                                   

The film starts with police officers searching for Rudra Nayak, a deadly terrorist in Bombay. However, his group escapes and arrives in Kerala. Then we are introduced to the main characters of this film, Sreekuttan and his friend Bhavya. Both of them are mechanics and live in a small village in Kerala. Dad of Sreekuttan is sick and needs heart surgery. For this, he works hard to earn a sufficient amount of money. Sreekuttan falls in love with a beautiful girl named Shruti on his first encounter with her. He expects the girl to love him back. But Shruti never confesses her love, which breaks his heart.

Now, a new police officer, Rajendran, assumes authority in the village. On his first day in this village, he gets into an ego fight with Sreekuttan. He insults and abuses him and waits for a chance to arrest him. As the film moves on, the police officer lefts no chance to release all his anger on Sreekuttan. This event frustrates Sreekuttan. He swears to take revenge on Rajendran. He decides to plant a bomb in his car with the help of his friend Bhavya. But the story does not end here. There are many twists and turns left. The bomb set for police officer Rajendran will kill someone else. Who will be killed by this blast? What will happen to Rajendran, Sreekuttan, and Bhavya? What will be the end of Sreekuttan’s and Shruti’s love story? Will Shruti confess her love for him? Watch this film to get your questions answered.

Star Performance

Bibin George plays a lead role in Oru Pazhaya Bomb Kadha. He executed his role perfectly and excellently acts like a polio-affected person while doing all these activities: dancing, singing, romance, caring for family, and even action scenes. Through his performance, he makes the audience feel sorry for a person with a physical disability.                                            Pragya is used only as a supporting character in the film, but she gives a fantastic performance. Hareesh Kanaran can be said to be the master of this film. He adds value to the film. Shajon, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Harisree Ashokan, and the rest of the cast did everything required.

Analysis

The film has all the elements that a Malyali moviegoer can enjoy. It does not contain only action and dramatic elements. Half of the movie is full of comedic scenes, which makes it entertaining. This film is unique because it does not contain any hatred or prejudice against women, which is usually present in Shafi’s films in the form of comedy. Although Mollywood has created films with disabled heroes, this is the first film with a disabled person playing the leading hero role. However, some jokes in the film fail to make the audience laugh. But director Shafi deserves appreciation for generating nostalgia in viewers through the use of music and dialogue from old Malayalam films.
