Plot

Scoop is a drama revolving around the life of Jagruti Pathak, a prominent crime reporter. She is charged with the heinous crime of murder of her fellow journalist Jaideep Sen Jaideep Sen is a Bollywood director who climbed th >> Read More... and is imprisoned. How is she going to defend herself when everyone is pointing fingers at her? The question the series raises is whether Jagruti was the real culprit behind the death of the journalist. Will she be acquitted or convicted?

Star Performance

The series has a talented cast that performed exceptionally well. Karishma Tanna, the protagonist of the series, gave us a phenomenal performance. She did an amazing job with the delivery of her dialogues and portraying emotions, confidence and her fighting spirit. Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub as editor-in-chief was equally impressive. Harman Baweja who played the role of a cop also deserves a special mention. Deven Bhojani also did a commendable job. The rest of the characters are presented so well it is almost as if they existed in reality.

Analysis

Hansal Mehta, the award-winning movie director once again presented a film based on real-life events. His filmography comes off as so natural and smooth in bringing stories to life. His attention to detail and an attempt to orchestrate the atmosphere of 2011 is commendable. The series comprises six episodes, with each of them running around an hour. The screenplay is mind-blowing with perfect frames in every shot. The movie feels hyper-realistic to the audience as every character was done justice to by the actors. The production, costumes, lighting and camera shots tell you the story of the character. The VFX & DI by FutureWorks Media Limited were brilliant. The epilogue of the series shall give you goosebumps.

Scoop is a well-narrated story of determination and abuse of power. It shall take you on a ride of corruption, crime, power, politics, grit, courage and mafia. Hansal Mehta did complete justice to the series with his excellent filmography. The brilliant direction, engaging storyline and power-packed acting of the actors shall keep you hooked on the series. The series is worth a watch, especially for thriller lovers. The series sets the stage for more Indian series to come. You are going to binge it all the way.
