Achint Thakkar

Producer, Composer, and musician Achint Thakkar is a graduate of Mithibai College in Mumbai. The Scam 1992 theme song famed Achint started his musical journey with a three-piece psychedelic band Rosemary. Known for consistently experimenting with music, he continued his musical journey after Rosemary de-banded in 2011. Anchit’s music continued to be a hybrid of sorts- a heavenly amalgamation of composition and production from Indian culture and the aesthetics of the western world. In 2015, Anchit introduced his solo abilities with his debut album Shalimar, a ten-track musical project, which was a blend of electronic grooves with poems by the 17th century poet Bulleh Shah.

His follow-up album Achint and The Khan Brothers, which he made with vocalist brothers Bhutta Khan and Multan Khan in 2018, was another hit with one of its songs, ‘Sawan Mod Muhara’ used in the movie Taish.

He has also composed for movies and web series like 4 More Shots Please! Apart from this, Achint has also worked with various brands like Disney, Puma, MRF, Global Desi, Bender’s Pride, Budweiser, Bobbi Brown, The Gates Foundation, Philips and many more. Not only this, Achint has carved a niche for himself in the advertising world as well by having worked with the advertising agencies like DDB Mudra and Lowe Lintas. 

Achint Thakkar was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and has been interested in music since childhood. He rose to fame for composing the original soundtrack of the 2020 critically acclaimed web series Scam 1992: Harshad Mehta Story, which became a viral hit among the series watchers and content creators alike. For composing the original soundtrack for the Scam 1992: Harshad Mehta Story, Achint Thakkar won two awards under the Best Background Music and Best Original Soundtrack categories.
