. After that, Ishita appeared in a morning television series Science Basics which was directed by Gullan Kriplani. Both of these television serials were telecasted on Doodarshan National Channel.
Ishita had a great interest in classical dances and she learnt Kathak during her training at Shiamak Davar’s Institute of Performing Arts. As she already had a television career since the early childhood, it took no time for her to establish herself as a popular TV celebrity as she started as a VJ and TV host for B4U Music channels. Because of her success as a VJ she was recognized and chosen for hosting the popular musical competitive television programme Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Ek Main Aur Ek Tu in the year 2005 which was aired on Zee TV. Her co-host was popular singer Shan. She also took part in a reality competition show Dil Jeetegi Desi Girl of NDTV Imagine in 2010 and got first runner-up position.
