The actor cum filmmaker also revealed his admiration for the southern regions of Indian cinema, especially Tollywood. According to him, elements like connecting with the masses and keeping their heroes rooted and relatable is something he is proud about, in stark comparison to Bollywood.

Randeep Hooda had made his directorial debut with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar last year. Based on the iconic but controversial revolutionary Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the movie received mixed reviews, but eventually manage to emerge as a moderate success, earning nearly 32 crores worldwide on a low budget of 20 crores.
