Phamous” is a romantic crime thriller scripted and directed by Karan Lalit Butani. Puneet Sharma is the co-scriptwriter. The film is bankrolled by Raj Khatri, Amitabh Chandra and Vidisha Productions. The film has the star cast of Jimmy Shergill, Shriya Saran, Kay Kay Menon, Pankaj Tripathi, Jackie Shroff, Mahie Gill, Jameel Khan and Brijendra Kala. Krsna Solo, Sandeep Goswami and Surya Vishwakarma composed the songs and the Background music is by Akash Prajapati. Chetan Vohra cranked the camera and Nayan Bhadra edited the film.

Radhe Shyam, who is infatuated with his school teacher, also has a good impression on Kadak Singh, a local politician. Years pass by and when Kadak Singh was stuck in a case, Radhe saves him. Kadak Singh’s opponent Ram Vijay Tripathi murders Radhe’s teacher and hence Radhe developed enmity against Ram Vijay. Later, Ram Vijay turns his eyes over Lalli, Radhe’s wife. On seeing this, Radhe focuses the gun towards Ram Vijay. What happens next? Watch the film on the big screen!

Star Performance

Jimmy Shergill, Kay Kay Menon and Pankaj Tripathi played their roles perfectly. The women protagonists Shriya and Mahie didn’t have much to emote. Jackie Shroff’s talent is wasted in the film.

Phamous doesn’t come with anything special. The writing doesn’t attract and the dialogues too. The sarcasm and the humor were expected to help the film, but they also failed. The scenes are good but they couldn’t be connected with the next scene. However, the production values are good.

What’s There?

  • The lead cast have done a decent performance
  • Technically the film sounds impressive
  • Music and BGM are okay

What’s Not There?

  • Shriya, Mahie and Jackie Shroff are just wasted
  • The story lacks the in-depth content
  • The narration is not good, as each scene has no connection to its previous and next scenes

Phamous is not a famous story that needs to be watched. If you don’t have any movies to watch this week, you could try out this film.
