Plot
Pappi is an aspiring politician who lives in Ujjain. His world turns upside down when his old mother, Angoori, declares that she is pregnant. How will Pappi handle this unexpected ‘good news’?
Star Performances
For all the flaws of this movie, Prakhar Shrivastava made a good effort with his simple, yet effective direction.
Malti Mathur and Brijendra Kala did complete justice to their respective roles. They tried their best to make up for the mess created by the makers.

’, which had released in 2018, and was based on an identical situation. However, there’s a twist: It’s the grandmother who is pregnant this time!
The movie does not meander much, thanks to a short runtime of 1 hour and 38 minutes. Prakhar Shrivastava does a fine job with the direction, and tries his best to blend the situational humor with the narrative of the movie.
However, it is spoiled by the not so effective screenplay developed by Abhishek Manoharchanda. True, the movie has promise, but in some scenes, the emotions replace the subtle messaging, and this is certainly not a good sign in any way. Despite the noble intentions, the tone is a bit too preachy in some sequences. The cinematography is also not upto the mark in some scenes.
However, two people try their best to make up for the mess. Brijendra Kala does a fine job as Pappi, and in some scenes, he brings out the casual, yet effective talent as displayed in projects like ‘The Aam Aadmi Family’. Malti Mathur also performs brilliantly as Angoori, and in some scenes, she would also remind some of the late

‘Good Luck’ is a unique movie with an innovative message. Despite the comparisons with ‘Badhaai Ho’, the movie tries to entertain the audience with its simple narrative and good performances from Brijendra Kala and Malti Mathur. If only the writing of the movie was equally sharp and to the point.
