Plot

The Chatterjee family lives in Norway. Anirudh and Debika are married couple.  Anirudhh goes out for work while Debika is a housewife. They have two kids, Shubh and Shuchi. The Norwegian Child Welfare Service team daily visits their house to see if they are correctly taking care of their children. They notice that Debika is feeding Shubh rice using her hands. They informed her that tomorrow would be the last visit. Senior Officers will come and make judgments judge whether they are valuable parents or not. Later that day, Debika drops Shubh to school. Shubh forgets to bring his school project. The Norwegian Child Welfare Services team notice this situation. They think that Debika is a careless mother. Anirudd always stayed in a rude mood, and he never loved Debika. But Debika never took this seriously. The next day, Senior Officer is welcomed into their house. Senior Officer mentioned that Anirudhh never helped with household chores. Anirudh, make some excuse and tell Debika to come in the corner. They discuss and fight with each other. Anirudhh thinks that Debika complains about him to them. Later Debika noticed that they had taken her daughter. She tried to stop them, but she failed. In the evening they took Shubh from the school. Watching this, Debika faints. When she woke up, Harman informed them that the children were in their custody. The government has given the parents a lawyer if they want their children back. Will they get their children? Why do they think Debika and Anirudhh are not capable parents? The rest of the story deals with it.

Star Performance

Rani Mukherjee’s performance was outstanding when she played the role of Debika. Her acting as the character of a mother was way too good. Watching this film, it feels like we are watching the struggle of a  mother and not a film. This is how Rani Mukherjee made this film alive. One would hate Anirban Bhattacharya after watching this movie. That much impact Anirban Bhattacharya made in this movie. Jim Sarbh, Charu Sankar, and Roopangi Vanvari acting was great. The child actors did the astonishing performance. All the other actors did as they were expected.

Analysis

The film is based on the real-life situation of Sagarika Chakraborty. The film shows the actual struggle of the mother. The movie sometimes becomes lengthy as it does not show the real things. It is more focused on drama. The music and songs were good but not as good as expected. The theme of the film is maintained properly. The struggle of the mother is the theme of the film. Dialogues were great. The plots were not confusing. It was simple and emotional.
