Plot

Mary Stuart, who loses her husband wants to establish her position. She goes back to Scotland from France to crown herself as the queen. But, her cousin, Elizabeth I, Queen of England doesn’t like Mary Stuart’s idea. When Elizabeth is a Protestant and an unmarried woman, Mary is Catholic. So, Elizabeth fears that her position is in trouble. Both of the women are strong enough in their decision and get advice from their advisors regarding their next move. What happened next? Watch the film in theaters.

Star Performance

Saoirse Ronan has given out a fantastic performance and Margot Robbie excelled well in her role. The supporting stars have done justice to their roles.

Analysis

The script is neatly penned and the star selection is perfect. The characterization is excellent. The film is technically sound. The cinematography is stunning. John Mathieson beautifully captured the beautiful locales of Scotland. The costume designer and the production designer should be appreciated for their excellence in their field. The sets are really good and the costumes perfectly match the stars and make us think that they are from the 16th century.

What’s There?

  • The script and screenplay are impressive
  • The cinematography is excellent and the visuals are a great treat to the eyes
  • Characterization is neat and the stars are given perfect roles

What’s Not There?

  • Except for a few flaws, nothing big is seen as a mistake

Verdict

Mary Queen Of Scots is a good film to watch with the family. Both the leads have played excellently and they impress the audiences with their expressions. With the beautiful locales of Scotland captured, the moviegoers would love to watch the film multiple times, especially for the cinematography. Mary Queen Of Scotswatch worthy
