Star Performance
Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Denzel Washington excel in their roles. Their performances are fantastic.
Analysis
The film created a huge expectation as this sequel was getting ready for release after 24 years. The screenplay is linear, and the flashbacks are easily connected. However, the writing looks a bit lazy. Though the stars have done their jobs well, we feel that the characters should have been developed well. Macrinus is the only interesting character in the entire film. The rest of the characters lack some depth. The action sequences are fantastically choreographed. Though there are some loopholes in the writing, the dialogues are perfect and the stars delivered it well, too. If the emotional content had been written properly, the runtime may not have become a hurdle for the viewers.
