The movie Big Miracle went on the big screens on February 3, 2012. But, the movie turned out to be a failure in the box-office. The plot unfolds with a group of people who have different interests and way of living. But, they are on a mission to rescue three whales that are caught in the freezing waters of the Arctic. Every person in the troop pops up with a different strategy. But, nothing materializes. One of the team members gets frustrated and reminds them of their true purpose.Â
As the title suggests, as a Big Miracle, everybody joins hands with a purpose to save the whales. The movie is based on real life happenings. But, the movie is woven with some amount of imagination also. It grasps the attention of audiences across the world. There is a feeling of goodness about the movie. Drew Barrymore does the Greenpeace girl, and she starts off the plot. She is seen getting into a tussle with oil magnate J W McGraw done by Ted Manson. In the midst of the movie, the residents are brought into the movie. They are discrete enough not to kill the whales for food. They know that it would cause repercussions that would turn against them.Â
The audiences are also taken in by the whales. The whales have been made in graphics but are realistic. The three whales are named Fred, Wilma, and Bam-Bam. The scenes taken below the surface of the water are breathtaking and also moving. There is warmth in the scene in which the mother whale prods the child to surface in the sea to breathe. The movie is an emotional one and also full of suspense like Alfred Hitchcock movies.Â
The freezing waters appear alive and look like some deadly being engulfing the whales. There is a lot of fun in the movie, and scenes in the flick move the audiences to tears. The director's efforts are to be commended for coming out with such a moving and breathtaking movie as this.
