Plot
Holly has four children; one is Ben from her first marriage and three are from her second marriage. After the carol rehearsal, Holly and three of her kids return home. They find some unexpected guest at their doors and it is none other than, Ben. As Ben’s past is not good, none trust him. Ben had been at a rehab center for his drug addiction. On seeing Ben, Holly is happy, but not her daughter Ivy. She calls her dad Neal and informs about Ben’s visit. Neal asks Holly not to give a chance to Ben, who had wasted all the chances when Holly had forgiven him. After a long conversation with her husband, Holly gives Ben, a final chance and also provides him with a 24-hour task. What is that? Watch the film in theaters!
Star Performance
Julia Roberts is the show stealer with a good performance. Lucas Hedges proved himself as a better actor. Courtney and Kathryn supported well in their characters.
Analysis
The script is purely performance oriented one. With the good star cast, the director made a lively story and impressed the audiences. The mother and son bonding is perfectly dealt with and the stars lived in the roles. The film has got a good BGM, cinematography and the editing that made the audiences enjoy the film without any boring moment.
